Inspired by Minxie's post of the same title, here is my cut free post and commitment to at least try to focus on the positives of life.
*I have a wonderful son. He's only four and a half right now, but already I can tell that, if things continue as they have so far, he will turn out to be a great adult as well. He's smart and happy and makes friends easily. But most importantly, he understands, at his young age, how his behavior can hurt others, and despite normal childhood pride, he hardly ever hesitates to apologize when he has behaved badly or hurt someone.
*I'm finally graduating. It's been a long path to get me here, but I can almost see the end of the tunnel. I'm going to finish in the next couple of months and will be able to move on with my life.
*I have a job. Despite the fact that this was a difficult job year and some of my friends, who looked much harder, are still unemployed. And it's not just a job; it's a good job for me, in a place that I think I want to live. And really, that's just a bonus.
*I sold my house after only two days on the market. And the inspection report just came back with not a lot of things to fix, so I think the probability of it falling through is pretty small.
*My husband is getting laid off. I know this last one sounds kind of crazy, but we're actually in a position where this is a good thing. He was going to have to quit soon anyway so we can move, and now he gets to take a severance package with him. And despite the fact that we are not in the kind of economic hardship a lot of households are in, that cushion, and any unemployment income he might get while searching for a new job will be greatly appreciated.
Now it is your turn. Stake your claim on the positives. Find five and put 'em in your journal - without a cut.
